This month I'm commiting myself to painting outside every day. Mostly working at the same site. These funny islands in our local park in Eau Claire freeze and thaw daily. What is it about islands that speak to me? I wonder that myself. Isolated land masses hold some mystery that draws my attention. Painting is a way to answer what I feel in my body. The last few days have been painful in my body - cold and wet. There are moments when I'm working I feel little direction, then some visual break and when I'm tired awakens part of me and am surprised to see.
